Throughout the 2026 legislative session, BIAW and its members fought efforts to impose an unconstitutional income tax on the people and businesses of Washington state.
Despite a record number of people opposing this unconstitutional new income tax, the legislative majority and our governor ignored the opposition and approved it anyway.
At the BIAW Winter Board Meeting, our Board of Directors approved BIAW joining a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of this new tax.
We’ve also joined the fight to support a new initiative (IP26-645) to repeal it.
IP26-645 repeals the new income tax and prohibits state and local goverments from imposing ANY tax on income.
