BIAW has hired Chris Corry as Vice President of Industry Partnerships & Research. As a member of the BIAW External Affairs team, Chris will oversee and direct BIAW’s housing research center, industry data and reporting, and activities with external coalition partners, stakeholders and industry allies. He will also serve on the Executive Management Team. Andrea Smiley will continue in the role of BIAW’s Legislative Director.

“Chris comes to BIAW with extensive experience in state government and the insurance industry,” said BIAW Executive Vice President Greg. Lane. “He has a keen grasp of our issues and will be a fantastic addition to the BIAW team.”

Since 2024, Corry has worked at the Washington Policy Center, serving as the Eastern Washington Director. He spent a decade working in the insurance industry, starting as an insurance auditor, then as an insurance audit manager and also as an insurance advisor.

Corry earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Washington. He is currently serving his fourth term as a State Representative from the Yakima area.  

Chris’ first day at BIAW will be next Monday, Aug. 3.
